Dragon's Dogma 2 gets its long-awaited expansion on Friday, and the game lands on Switch 2 for the first time.
## What's in the expansion Per RPG Site, quoting Capcom, Dark Arisen sends the Arisen to Norgan, a long-abandoned region in the north. You team up with Eir to unravel the secrets of the undying Fallen Dragon. Unearthing and appraising forgotten relics opens up new weapons and skills. There are 12 Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges, plus new hairstyles and tattoos in the character creator.
## Price and platforms The Dark Arisen expansion launches Oct. 9 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam. Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, the bundle with the base game and the expansion, is $49.99 and also launches on Switch 2, the first time the game appears there. Owners of the base game on PS5, Xbox and PC can buy the expansion alone for $29.99.
## What came first Capcom announced two base-game updates ahead of the expansion. A June 9 update added a reusable Eternal Ferrystone for easier fast travel, plus quality-of-life changes. A second update, due at the end of August, promised better frame rates and more save slots. We haven't checked that either shipped as described.
## Why it matters Big-world, single-player RPGs rarely get a real expansion with a clear price tag. This one gives owners a reason to reinstall and gives Switch 2 players the whole game in one purchase. No review scores exist yet, and we haven't read any Switch 2 performance reporting. Confirm the date on your store page.
## The read Fast travel was one complaint, and Capcom handled it first. Friday it's the new region. If you own the game, it's thirty dollars. If you don't, fifty gets you all of it.
