Gunna doesn't announce albums so much as let them leak out of interviews. This one leaked out of a business show.
## What he said Sitting with Forbes' The Enterprise Zone on Thursday, September 17, Gunna confirmed the follow-up to The Last Wun is called Splurge. Billboard pulled the quote: "I want to tap into my new next level that I've been tapping in with. I want to introduce that, which is Splurge. This upper-echelon artist who's gravitated to another level." On timing: "I can't say when because I'm in it right now. If I feel ready, it could come out next month. But if I'm not ready, I'm not ready yet. I don't have a date."
@Kurrco had it on X within the hour, three words and a siren: GUNNA / SPLURGE / COMING SOON. That post is the one everybody quote-tweeted.
## The label question This is the real story. The Last Wun, out last year, was widely read as the last album under his YSL Records deal, and Gunna's relationship with that building hasn't been simple since the RICO plea. Rolling Out reports he wouldn't confirm a new home or a departure, only that conversations are "actively happening" and the people behind his next chapter are being figured out. RGM caught the other tell: he brought up his own SB imprint and hinted he might not be a free agent at all. So the options are a new major partner, an SB-fronted deal, or independence with distribution. He's not saying, which usually means paper is being drafted.
## Where he's been No solo single in 2025. That's a first for him since Drip Season. He stayed on records anyway: Shaboozey's "High Noon," Rich The Kid's "Too Bad." Off wax, the Wunna Run Club and the Under Armour partnership kept the brand moving in a lane rap hasn't figured out yet. The Last Wun opened at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with 80,000 units and went No. 1 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, so the commercial floor is still high without radio.
## The take "Upper-echelon artist who's gravitated to another level" is Gunna telling you the album is about money and taste, which every Gunna album is about. The difference is who cashes the check.
