A Dayroom Fight. Two Threats on Staff. Keffe D's Jail File, Four Weeks Out.

TMZ obtained Clark County Detention Center records on the man convicted of killing Tupac: a December brawl, pepper spray, and a promise to punch a corrections officer. Sentencing is October 13.

Four weeks from sentencing, the man convicted of killing Tupac has a jail file that reads like a man who never expected to be there long. TMZ (@TMZ) published it Monday, and it covers the full stretch from his September 29, 2023 booking at Clark County Detention Center through the start of trial.

## What's in the records Per TMZ's exclusive, Duane "Keffe D" Davis, 63, racked up a string of disciplinary write-ups in Las Vegas. The heaviest one is from December 2025: an officer walking him back from a visit says Davis and another inmate went at it in the dayroom, "mutual combat," punches thrown, until the officer pepper-sprayed both and backup separated them.

Before that, March 2024, an argument over free time turned into Davis allegedly telling a corrections officer, "I have been doing this s---t since before you were born," then threatening to punch him in the face. He was moved to disciplinary housing for refusing a direct order and threatening staff. August 2024 brought two more: a 24-hour lockdown for cursing out two officers after he couldn't make a bail-related phone call, and a scuffle when staff tried to remove an unauthorized second mattress from his cell. One officer came away with a scratched knuckle. The minor stuff, passing a commissary note to another inmate, rounds it out.

## Why this drops now Sentencing is October 13 in front of Judge Carli Kierny. A jury convicted Davis of first-degree murder with use of a deadly weapon on August 31 after roughly two weeks of trial, per NBC News, and the exposure is life without parole. He told the judge in the courtroom he wanted to appeal; she told him it waits until after sentencing. Then he told The Hollywood Reporter, per XXL, "I'm getting out on an appeal," claiming the paperwork was filed before trial and that his civil rights were violated. A jail record with a fight and two threats against staff is not the exhibit a man says that with.

## The read Davis spent seventeen years telling the story on camera, in a book, to anyone who'd pay for it, and the state finally used the tape. Three years in a county jail waiting on a trial he was sure he'd beat, and the file says he treated the building like it was temporary. Thirty years after the Strip, the one thing the record doesn't show is any version of him that thought the bill would come due. Boosie said it this weekend: the interview is more dangerous than the lyric. Keffe D is the proof of concept, and October 13 is the invoice.

The jail records are TMZ's reporting; Sneakz & Beatz has not independently reviewed the documents. Davis has maintained he was not the shooter.
