Mowalola 14: Part Two Is Saturday

Mowalola sold the Air Jordan 14 and the 14 Mule on its own site Sept. 19. The wider Nike SNKRS and retailer release is Sept. 26. $255 for the retro, $180 for the mule, and the first British-Nigerian designer on a Jordan.

## The two dates Sneaker News updated the release plan September 15 after Mowalola confirmed it: the Air Jordan 14 (IQ5708-001, $255) and the Air Jordan 14 Mule (IR0908-001, $180) sold first through mowalola.com on Saturday, September 19, then hit Nike SNKRS and select retailers on Saturday, September 26. House of Heat has both pairs on its calendar for the 26th. So the wide release is this week, and the SNKRS allotment is usually the bigger one.

## The shoe Mowalola Ogunlesi is the British-Nigerian designer whose label has dressed Kanye, Naomi Campbell, and half the London club scene; she's the first designer from that background to get a Jordan. The 14 she made keeps the "Ferrari" flat-panel build but swaps suede for brown leather, runs a faded plaid across the heel and a red plaid lining over black, and puts her script on the lateral side. The biggest change is the smallest: the Ferrari-inspired side window is gone, replaced by a circular branded hit. On a shoe whose entire identity is the Ferrari badge, that's a real design decision, not a colorway.

The mule is the same story in a backless silhouette, black with metallic silver and burnt red, and at $180 it's the one people are sleeping on. Jordan hasn't done many 14 mules. This one will be the reference.

## The week around it Saturday the 26th is stacked. The Air Jordan 1 Low OG "Last Dance at the Garden" lands the same day at $145, the women's Air Jordan 5 "Sunset" is Friday the 25th, and J Balvin's 4 "Lemonade" is the same Friday.
