French's Friend Said 'The Baby'

Sitting between streamer N3on and a friend at a Fashion Week event Monday night, French Montana got congratulated 'because of the baby' on a live lapel mic. He shushed her. Too late.

Label this one what it is: unconfirmed. Neither French Montana nor Sheikha Mahra has said a word. But the culture spent Monday night replaying eight seconds of a Kick stream, and here's why.

## What the mic caught N3on ran a "FASHION WEEK EDITION" stream from a New York Fashion Week event on Sept. 14. French Montana was seated between N3on and a female friend, wearing a lapel mic. Per Complex, the friend leaned in and said she was so happy for him "because of the baby." French made a shushing gesture and pointed at the mic clipped to his jacket. She covered her mouth and said nobody could hear her. Several hundred thousand people could hear her. Deltia's Gaming had the clip circulating before the stream ended, and by Tuesday morning it was Complex's top story.

## Who Sheikha Mahra is, for the back row Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is a daughter of Dubai's ruler. She went globally viral in 2024 for announcing her divorce in an Instagram caption, then turned the moment into a fragrance line called Divorce. Rumors about her and French started that October. They got engaged in 2025 during Paris Fashion Week, per Complex citing TMZ, and French has said on Joe and Jada that a friend connected them in Dubai after that divorce post went around. A Moroccan-born Bronx rapper and a Dubai royal is not a pairing anybody had on a bingo card, and it has been one of the more quietly fascinating relationships in rap for a year.

## Why the stream matters as much as the news This is the second week in a row a Fashion Week moment broke on a streamer's feed instead of a red carpet. Kai Cenat put VIVET on a runway on Friday. N3on's hot mic did what a dozen paparazzi couldn't on Monday. The people with the cameras at NYFW now are 20-somethings with Kick deals and lapel mics, and legacy artists are learning the hard way that the mic is always on.

## Where it stands No confirmation, no denial, no statement. If it's real, it's a first child for the couple and French's second. If it's not, a friend had a very awkward week. Either way, French now knows exactly where the mic is.
