Keef's first headlining show inside Chicago city limits since 2012 was postponed at 7pm for a 7:30 start. Live Nation says travel and curfew. Keef says a pilot got racist and cancelled his plane. New date: September 23.

Chicago waited fourteen years for Sosa to headline his own city. Saturday it waited a little longer.

## What happened The Chief Keef Live 2026 tour was supposed to open September 12 at Huntington Bank Pavilion on Northerly Island, 7:30pm. Around 6 the venue posted a delay. Around 7 it posted a postponement. Per NBC Chicago, the venue's statement was short: all tickets honored for the new date. That date is Wednesday, September 23.

## Two versions of why Live Nation, to the Sun-Times: "Due to traveling issues, the show was postponed because of curfew, and Keef wouldn't have landed in enough time to give an adequate performance." Keef, on Instagram: a pilot "got very racist at the clear port" and "decided to cancel my plane." He added, "No i ain't happy, yes i am upset... im sincerely sorry that this happened trust me... we back on for the 23rd mark my words." The pilot account is his alone; nobody at the airline or the promoter has confirmed it. Both statements are on the record, so report both.

## Why fourteen years is the number Keef left Chicago for L.A. in 2014 and was a no-show in his own city for most of a decade; the 2024 Summer Smash set was a festival slot, not his own room. This was billed as the first headlining show inside city limits since 2012, and fans came from as far as Toronto and St. Louis, per Block Club. That's the part that stings. Northerly Island has a hard curfew, and a late plane at a curfew venue is a cancelled show no matter who's on the bill.

## The 23rd Same venue, same tickets. If the tour kicks off in Chicago on a Wednesday with the whole city watching, the postponement becomes a footnote. If it slips again, it becomes the story.
