Last Call For Night City.

Cyberpunk 2077 exits Game Pass on console and cloud September 15 after a six-month run. Finish Phantom Liberty, or buy it before the discount disappears.

The standing Cyberpunk beat, and this week it's a deadline. Cyberpunk 2077 leaves Xbox Game Pass on Tuesday, September 15. It joined the service in March, so that's roughly a six-month window closing, per GameSpot and CBR. It's one of ten titles going at once; Frostpunk 2, Dead Cells and Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor are in the same batch.

## Who actually loses it Console and cloud. If you've been playing on a Series X or streaming it, the game locks on the 15th. PC Game Pass subscribers keep it, at least for now. Your saves stay on your account either way, so if you buy the game later, you pick up where you left off.

## What to do before Tuesday If you're mid-playthrough, the honest advice is to stop chasing side gigs and run the main story to one of the endings; the game auto-saves aggressively and the last stretch is shorter than it looks. If you never touched Phantom Liberty, the expansion is the best thing CD Projekt has shipped since Witcher 3 and it's sold separately from the base game, so Game Pass was never covering it anyway. Members get a discount on the full Ultimate Edition (base game plus Phantom Liberty) right up until the removal date, and that discount goes away with the game. That's the move if you want to keep Night City permanently.

## Why the timing matters Cyberpunk is running three formats this month. The trading card game beta is in stores through the 17th ahead of a November 6 release. Edgerunners 2 hits Netflix October 20 with a brand-new crew. Cyberpunk 2 is in full production at a studio that's now over 900 people. Season one of Edgerunners sent the game to a million copies a week back in 2022; season two will do something similar, and the people who bounce off the anime into the game will want it on their console, not on a subscription that just dropped it. CD Projekt knows that. Pulling it from Game Pass five weeks before the anime is not an accident.

## The Sneakz take For the single-player crowd, this is the last cheap way in. Ninety hours of a city that still looks better than most 2026 releases, a DLC that plays like a spy thriller, and a sequel that's years out. Buy it on the discount, finish it before October 20, then watch the anime knowing what Dogtown looks like from the inside.
