Clancy Brown Is Weak. Wendee Lee Directs. Edgerunners 2 in 38 Days.

The English dub for Netflix's October 20 sequel is locked: Valeria Rodriguez as Roman, Kimoy Lee as Talia, Nazeeh Tarsha as D, and Clancy Brown as the veteran Weak Kingsley. Kai Ikarashi directs for Trigger.

The date is October 20. The crew is new. And the English voices are set. With the first season, the dub mattered: most of the audience that turned Edgerunners into a phenomenon watched it in English, and David and Lucy's cast became part of why the show hit. For Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, the standalone ten-episode sequel, the English cast was revealed over the summer and it's worth putting names to faces before the premiere.

## The cast Valeria Rodriguez plays Roman Carax, the kid filming Night City's worst. Kimoy Lee is Talia Yang, the ex-corpo running with Maelstrom. Nazeeh Tarsha voices D, the Snake Nation netrunner on a revenge tip. And Clancy Brown plays Weak Kingsley, the veteran stuck in the past. Wendee Lee is both casting director and dubbing director, per Final Weapon and English-Dubbed's reporting on the reveal.

Clancy Brown is the name most people will recognize: the Kurgan in Highlander, the captain in Shawshank, Lex Luthor in the DC animated universe, and the voice of Mr. Krabs for a quarter century. Casting him as the old merc who can't let go tells you the tone of that character.

## Who's making it Kai Ikarashi directs. He handled Episode 6 of the first season, the one most fans point to as the peak, and takes over the whole show this time in cooperation with CD Projekt Red. Studio Trigger is back with what Netflix describes as a reimagined animation style. Netflix's Tudum announcement on August 21 called it "a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge in a city that thrives on violence," and the teaser framed the question the season asks: when the world is blinded by spectacle, what do you have to do to make your story matter?

## Why the dub is the story this week Nothing about season two is a rerun. New crew, new director, new look, all-new cast in both languages. The first season's English dub was directed by Wendee Lee too, so the one thread of continuity is the person casting the voices. That's a deliberate choice: keep the sound that worked, change everything else.

## The bigger Cyberpunk calendar Season one pushed Cyberpunk 2077 to a million copies a week in fall 2022, and the game has since crossed 40 million sold. CD Projekt has stacked the fall around the anime: the Cyberpunk 2077 trading card game beta runs through September 17 with a November 6 release, the Edgerunners: Hunted game is due this month, and 2077 leaves Xbox Game Pass on September 15. Everything points at October 20.
