The Knicks won the chip and Jordan Brand is going to sell it to you one silhouette at a time. Next up is the one nobody asked for, which is exactly why it's interesting.

## The report Sneaker News posted Monday that an Air Jordan 2 "Knicks" is in the chamber for Summer 2027, sourcing Sneaker Files and @zSneakerHeadz. Sneaker Bar Detroit had it first on September 11 with the specifics: style code JJ7339-030, "Phantom/Multi-Color," a June 9, 2027 date, price TBA, SNKRS and select Jordan accounts. Sneaker Files' calendar says the pair may carry the "New York" name rather than "Knicks." Every image out right now is a mockup, Jordan Brand hasn't said a word, and a summer-2027 date is nine months from moving. Reported, not confirmed.

## What it's supposed to look like Sail or Phantom leather base, orange and blue on the spine, quarter piping and the small hits. Basically the Knicks home uniform in Peter Moore and Bruce Kilgore's 1986 Italian-made shoe, the one MJ famously didn't love and the one Tinker had to rescue with the 3. The 2 has had its cult moments since, the 2022 run especially, but it's never been a retail sure thing. Putting the hottest team in the league on the least-loved OG is a bet that the city carries the shoe, not the other way around.

## The Knicks slate is now three deep This is the third New York pair reported for 2027. The Air Jordan 8 "Knicks" leads the "Idols Become Rivals" series, the Air Jordan 10 "Knicks" gets its first retro in the fall, and Melo's 5.5 is expected in the same colors. Jordan Brand is treating the Garden the way it treated Chicago for thirty years. That's the business read: a championship in the biggest market in the country, a fanbase spending on anything orange and blue, and a brand that owns the retro calendar deciding which team gets the tribute run.

## The take If the 2 comes back right, OG shape, quality leather, no lazy Jumpman on the heel, a Knicks colorway is the one that could finally give the model a general-release win. If it comes back as another $200 shelf-sitter, the city will have moved on to the 10s by then. Either way, the 2027 Jordan calendar is turning into a New York story, and we'll be tracking every pair on it.
