Fifty million dollars. That is the number a Harris County judge put on one night in April 2020 at NBA YoungBoy's house, and it landed in the culture Monday afternoon like a late-arriving bill.
## What surfaced @TMZ pulled the court docs first, Monday, September 14: Iyanna "Yaya" Mayweather, Floyd's daughter and the mother of one of YoungBoy's sons, owes Lapattra Jacobs $50,105,000. The split is $40,105,000 in compensatory damages and another $10 million in exemplary damages, the Texas version of punitive. Hot 97, XXL and Complex all matched it within hours. Per Complex, the final judgment in the 189th Judicial District Court in Houston was actually signed back on May 20; nobody outside the case clocked it until TMZ did this week.
## How the math works XXL laid out the breakdown from the docs. Past damages: $105,000 in medical bills plus $2 million each for pain and mental anguish, physical impairment, lost earning capacity and disfigurement, roughly $8 million. Future damages in those same categories: about $32 million. Then the $10 million on top, because the judge found the conduct was intentional, involved a deadly weapon and carried "an extreme degree of risk," which under Texas law lifts the usual cap on exemplary damages. Fault was assigned 100 percent to Mayweather, zero to Jacobs, who the court found acted in self-defense. Mayweather did not show up for the civil trial. The judge also ordered her to turn over documentation on every bank account, contract and revenue stream she has, which is the part that turns a number on paper into a collection effort.
## The 2020 night, on the record The underlying incident is the one TMZ broke in April 2020: Mayweather arrived at YoungBoy's Houston-area home, found Jacobs, the mother of another of his children, there, and the argument ended with Jacobs stabbed twice with kitchen knives and hospitalized with arm injuries. Jacobs' civil complaint says one arm never fully recovered. YoungBoy was home, was briefly cuffed by responding officers, and was never charged; the bodycam of him arguing with police resurfaced in 2024. Jacobs originally named him in the suit, but those claims never went to trial.
On the criminal side, Mayweather pleaded guilty in April 2022 to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and took six years of deferred-adjudication probation. That probation is still running. The civil judgment now runs alongside it.
## Why the number matters Civil courts are where the culture's beefs get priced, and lately the invoices are coming due in bulk. YoungBoy's orbit alone has had a week: his brother OG 3Three and NBA Ben10 picked up by the FBI over the Confessions shooting, and now the mother of his son on the hook for a figure bigger than most rappers' catalog sales. As of Monday night there was no word from Mayweather's camp on an appeal, and as Hot 97 noted, no comment on whether she can pay any of it. Floyd's money is Floyd's; a judgment against Yaya is against Yaya. Whether Jacobs ever sees a meaningful fraction of $50 million is a separate fight, and it starts now.
Boosie said it a few days ago about interviews, and it holds for everything else: what you do in this business gets entered into evidence eventually. Six years later, this one came back with interest.
