Regional exclusives are the one Jordan move that still makes Americans mad, and the "London" 4 is going to be the loudest one this year. Sneaker News updated the release date to Thursday, September 17 on September 10. Nike SNKRS UK and select Jordan retailers in Europe. No US release is planned.

The shoe

Style code IV6048-001. Black/Red Bark-Dark Smoke Grey-Smoke Grey-Hemp is the official name; the shoe is a hairy grey suede 4 with black netting and a dark mudguard, closer to a rainy Tuesday than a Union Square line. $220 per Sneaker News and its release table; some aggregators have $230. Official images are out, so this is confirmed, not a leak.

The detail that makes it a London shoe and not just a grey one is the heel. The "LDN" lettering sits beneath a transparent heel plate, so the AIR branding and the city code both read at once. It's a small piece of engineering for a shoe that mostly sells on texture.

The city program

Jordan has been quietly building a city series: the Japan-only 12 "Sumo," now London. The logic is the same one that made the Nike Air Max "City" packs work a decade ago. A shoe that only exists in one market becomes a souvenir, and souvenirs don't need hype to hold value. Complex and Sole Retriever both have the official set.

For the US, the story is what it always is: proxies, StockX, and the 40% markup that comes with an ocean. Expect it to land at $350 to $400 in the first week and drift from there. The 4 in a muted suede has a long tail; the "Craft" 4s aged better than their launch numbers suggested.

Verdict

If you've got a cousin in Peckham, now's the time to call. If not, wait a month. Regional 4s spike on release day and soften once the second wave of European stock hits resale. This is a good shoe, not a grail, and the price will eventually say so.
