Overwatch has done My Hero Academia, Cowboy Bebop and One-Punch Man. Next up is the anime that made half of you buy a game you'd sworn off.

## What was announced Same BlizzCon panel where CD Projekt Red confirmed Cyberpunk 2077 for Battle.net, September 13. Per Dork and CDPR's press release, the Edgerunners collaboration hits Overwatch in 2027 with cosmetics based on David Martinez from Season 1 and Talia, the lead of Season 2. Two pieces of art were shown. That's it for confirmed.

## What isn't confirmed Which heroes wear the skins. Whether Lucy or Rebecca make it. A date. A price. An event name. The hero-mapping list making the rounds on X, the one with David on Hanzo and Rebecca on Tracer, is a 2024 fan post, not Blizzard's. Don't air it as fact.

## Why it lands now Edgerunners Season 2 drops October 20 on Netflix, ten episodes, a new crew, Kai Ikarashi directing. Overwatch's Season 5 lands October 6 with the vampire support hero Doctrine. The 2027 collab is the bridge: get you hooked on Talia's story this fall, sell you her look next year. The first season pushed Cyberpunk 2077 back up the Steam charts in 2022. Blizzard is betting the second one can do the same for a shooter.

## The take The collab everybody assumed was Fortnite's turned out to be Blizzard's. For Trigger's characters, that's the right fit: Overwatch is the one hero shooter that already looks like an anime.
