Rocky Said It Hurt. Ferg Says They Grew Up.

Rocky said in August that Ferg dropping the A$AP name hurt him. On Complex's 'In Motion,' Ferg answered: it's personal for Rocky, the tattoo is still on him, and the name change is about growing up.

A$AP Mob was the rare Harlem crew that turned a name into a brand and made both of its biggest stars rich. So when one of those stars dropped the name, the other one felt it.

## What Rocky said Back in August on The Jason Lee Show, A$AP Rocky said Ferg dropping "A$AP" hurt him, while saying he holds no bad blood. His line, per Complex: "The Ferg dropping A$AP hurt me as well."

## What Ferg said back Ferg answered on Complex Bets' In Motion with Ashley Nicole Moss, published Sept. 25, per Complex (@Complex) and HotNewHipHop (@HotNewHipHop).

On Rocky's feelings: "I feel like that's a personal thing for him."
On the crew: "We're not mobbing anymore. Like we're grown."
On the name: he was always "Ferg" growing up, still has A$AP tattooed on him, and "now I'm just going back to who I am."

He said he and Rocky are "building towers" separately. Rocky has film. Ferg has fitness and brand work. He also compared what A$AP Mob could have been to Bad Boy.

## Where Ferg is now Ferg is 37, with a new album expected in early 2027, per Complex. The current single is "CYCLE."

Rocky, meanwhile, just did a helicopter entrance in Stockholm on the Don't Be Dumb tour and is on Quavo's new album, out Friday.

## The take Ferg's point is about ownership. "A$AP" was a collective brand that A$AP Yams and the crew built together, and after Yams passed in 2015, the name meant loyalty as much as marketing. Leaving it doesn't mean he left the crew. It means he's putting everything he does next under a name only he controls. Rocky's hurt is real, and so is Ferg's reason. Both can be true.
