## What it is DRUMFLX is a free sample-based instrument from SoniX Audio, built by producer KXVI — whose credits, per Bedroom Producers Blog, include work with Future, SZA, 21 Savage and Lil Tjay. It's aimed squarely at hip-hop, trap, R&B and drill production. No checkout, no user account, no license code, no plugin activation — you download it and it works.
## How it's built Two workflows sit inside it: Classic One Shot mode for pad-based finger drumming, and Drum Loop mode for ready-made grooves you can drop straight into a session. Three processing modes — Modern, Vintage and Texture — each carry their own controls, and the interface shifts depending on which mode you're in so it stays readable instead of cluttered. You can also import your own samples instead of being locked to the stock kit.
## The catch, such as it is Windows gets VST3 only, 64-bit, Windows 10 or newer. Mac gets VST3 and AU, but you need macOS 14 Sonoma or newer — both Intel and Apple Silicon are covered. There's no standalone version either way, so you need a DAW open to use it.
