An artist signature controller is Sony's version of a signature shoe. This one sells out next week.
## The drop Sony revealed the DualSense Wireless Controller – Lisa Limited Edition on the PlayStation Blog on September 21. The details: - Pre-orders: Thursday, October 2, 10am local time (10am ET in the US) - Price: $84.99 / €84.99 / £74.99 / ¥12,480 - Ships: October 30, in "highly limited quantities" - Where: direct.playstation.com in the US, playstation.com in selected EU/UK countries
## The design Chroma Pearl finish, which Sony calls her favorite colorway, with her bangs and eyes on the touch pad plus stars and "LL" lettering. It builds on her appearance in last year's global PS5 campaign.

## The merch and the EP A US merch line (apparel, hats, totes, keychains and a controller case) goes on pre-order the same day and launches October 30. More items hit her Amazon store October 23, the same day her new EP, Press Play, comes out. The title isn't subtle. The controller, merch and music all launch together as one campaign.
## Why this matters beyond K-pop This is the same model as a sneaker collab: limited quantity, fan base built in, a date everyone knows, and a sellout guaranteed before the page goes live. Sony has figured out that a colorway plus a name moves hardware accessories the way Jordan Brand moves retros. Lisa said gaming "is something I do whenever I have time to relax." The business side is Sony turning an $85 controller into a collectible.
The question for our side of the culture: when does a rapper get this treatment? Travis has had Fortnite. Nobody from hip-hop has a first-party PlayStation controller yet. Somebody should.
Tip: if you want one to use, not flip, be on direct.playstation.com before 10am ET on October 2. "Highly limited" means it'll go fast.
