Jordan Brand's Día de Muertos pair usually comes down to the details. This year's are the most personal yet.

## The details - Shoe: Air Jordan 1 Mid "Día de Muertos" - Style code: IZ4718-283 - Colorway: Desert Dust/Particle Beige/Light Orewood Brown/Terra Blush - Price: $145 - Release: October 2026 on Nike (exact date TBA). It has already dropped in select European markets.

## What's on it Tumbled leather base, speckled overlays, ornate stitching around the Swoosh. The tongue graphic and insole feature a Xolo, the Xoloitzcuintli, the hairless dog with roots in Aztec history. In the tradition, the Xolo guides souls through the underworld. Open the box and the inside of the lid reads "En esta familia nadie vuela solo": in this family, no one flies alone.

## Why it matters It's a Mid, so the purists will pass. That's fine. This pair isn't aimed at resellers. Día de Muertos is about family and memory, and the Latino sneaker community has been one of Jordan Brand's most loyal markets for decades, from LA to San Antonio to Chicago's Pilsen. A Xolo on the insole and a Spanish line inside the box read like someone on the design team did the research instead of putting sugar skulls on a toe box.

The question is the same as with every cultural capsule: does the money go back to the community the story is about? Nike hasn't announced a community partnership tied to this pack. If one comes with the release, we'll update.
