What it does
Three focus areas: mental health support, economic opportunity and creative expression. The foundation's own announcement says Hickson is doing this "not because she has all the answers," but because she believes in what her son envisioned. Per Action News Jax, a community mixer next month will introduce it to Jacksonville nonprofits and local organizations.
Why this one matters
The Jacksonville rapper died in February at 25. His family has been open since then that he was dealing with depression and anxiety, and that substances made it heavier. Hickson said publicly she was sharing that "not to shame him," but to be honest about it.
That honesty is rare. Rap families usually get a mural, a tribute mixtape and a hashtag. A foundation that puts money into therapy access, jobs and studio time is harder to build and it lasts longer. Pairing mental health with economic opportunity is the right call — a lot of what young artists carry is stress about money, not just what's in their heads.

Who leads it, who funds it, and what programs actually run in Jacksonville. The launch is the easy part.
