Who Cecil actually is

Why the reunion works on us specifically
Final Fantasy VIII and IX landed for a lot of us on a hand-me-down PlayStation, and Cecil's story predates most of that by half a decade. A game that puts all of them on the same screen isn't selling new lore. It's selling the exact nostalgia Square Enix knows this audience never let go of, packaged as a fresh release instead of another remaster. Whether Resonance earns that reunion or just cashes the check on it is the only real question left before October 22.
