Pearl Abyss pushed the Crimson Desert expansion back by two weeks. It's not a long wait, but it lands on a crowded day.
## What changed On Sept. 30, the studio moved Charting the Unknown from Oct. 15 to Oct. 29, according to Push Square and Gematsu. Pearl Abyss said it needs additional development time to deliver a more polished and stable experience. That's the studio's reason, not ours.
## What's in it Push Square lists castle building and decoration, naval exploration and combat, underwater exploration, and a new setting with story content. Gematsu lists PS5, Xbox Series and PC on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Neither source gave a price.
## The crowded day Oct. 29 is also the date for Phantom Blade Zero, the S-Game action RPG we've been counting down. Two big single-player games and one big expansion in the same week is a good problem for RPG fans, and a bad one for your free time.
## The read Two weeks for polish is a fair trade, and open-world games earn their reputation after launch, not on day one. Hold them to the new date.
