The idea is simple and kind of clever. Space Jam hit in 1996. Everybody remembers the Monstars. Nobody remembers that Michael Jordan spent a lot of that shoot standing in front of a green wall acting like there was a game. The shoe is built on that.
What you're getting
Per House of Heat: Gym Green, Lucky Green and Orange Peel, with green suede on the tongue and mudguard, in-flight Jordan imagery on the insoles, and a glow-in-the-dark outsole. Custom green packaging with Space Jam callouts. Complex adds that it's a select Nike neighborhood-retailer release, which means limited.
Why it matters this year
This is Space Jam's 30th anniversary, and Jordan Brand is milking it in a smart way. The original Space Jam 11 is coming December 12 at $255 (our look). The women's Light British Tan pair is a third pair for the same anniversary (details). The Green Screen is the one for people who already own the black-and-blue.
Look, $255 for an all-green 11 is a lot. But it's an anniversary shoe with a story, and those tend to hold value better than another recolor.
