Gran Turismo 7's free Spec IV update lands in two parts: October 2026 and December 2026, per the PlayStation Blog. Part one brings Sportsland SUGO. Part two brings Autumn Ring, a legacy track from the original Gran Turismo, plus a new Family Mode.
Twelve cars are coming across both updates. The exact list hasn't been revealed.
What's in it
Sportsland SUGO (October): a Japanese circuit with real elevation changes and the Dunlop bridge you'll recognize.
New competitive options: Online Drift Trials and Shuffle Races with randomized conditions.
Quality-of-life stuff: Driving Experiences, an enhanced Car Viewer, progression changes, and a Concierge car-buying tool.
Family Mode (December): meant to make the game easier to pick up for different skill levels.
Why it matters
GT7 has been out long enough that most updates feel like patches. Two tracks, a dozen cars and new online modes is a real content drop, and it's free. For anyone who stepped away, December is a decent re-entry point because Family Mode is built for exactly that.
The next shoe to drop is the car list. The Blog says more details come at Gran Turismo World Series Round 3 in Singapore on October 3, 2026. We didn't find coverage of what was revealed there yet, so treat the specific October date and car lineup as unconfirmed.
Also on the State of Play calendar, per Gfinity Esports: Final Fantasy Resonance on October 22 (our coverage).
