The phone video was the problem. Now it's a cell.
## What happened Per a TMZ report carried by XXL on Wednesday, Sept. 30, FCI Fort Dix is sending Sean Combs back into its Special Housing Unit in direct response to this week's NBC News report. TMZ's sources are the basis; the prison hasn't confirmed the move. TMZ's sources describe a SHU stay as standard procedure while officials investigate. NBC's reporting included video of Combs trying to make a call on a cell phone, plus claims that he's been paying for massages, nude photos and Hennessy, and that other inmates cook for him and do his laundry.
## The statements A Combs spokesperson, to ABC News: "The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs' life in prison has reached the point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news. The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence while awaiting the court's decision on his appeal." The Bureau of Prisons, generic and telling: contraband, "particularly cell phones, narcotics and weapons, remains a constant challenge."

## The date keeps moving XXL notes his projected release has shifted again: from Feb. 5, 2028, to Jan. 21, 2028. HotNewHipHop had the SHU move Sept. 30. His former chief of staff, meanwhile, just surfaced on Usher's tour staff.
## The read Money buys a lot in federal custody until it's on camera. A contraband phone is the one thing the BOP can't shrug off, because it's the one thing that ends up on the internet. The appeal is the real clock. The SHU is the reminder that the building still decides the day.
