Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival drops October 8 on PS5, Xbox Series and PC, and Doug Bradley is back voicing Pinhead. Per Gematsu, it's $39.99 standard and $49.99 Deluxe.
The pitch
Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games built a survival horror action game. You go into the underworld to get a loved one back from the Cenobites. Your tool is the Genesis Configuration puzzle box, which gives you pyrokinesis, telekinesis and the Hell Chains. You use those on cultists, creatures and Hell's minions, and on environmental puzzles. The story is new, not a retread of the films.
Pre-order bonus
Pre-orders include the Labyrinth Pistol Skin and Martyr Sawblade Skin. Cosmetics, nothing that changes the game.
Timing
Eight days before Halloween weekend, and a week before Castlevania: Belmont's Curse. Horror fans get a stacked fortnight. At $39.99 it's priced under the big October shooters, which tells you Saber isn't trying to out-muscle Call of Duty. It's trying to be the scary one you play with the lights off.
I haven't seen hands-on impressions or a review yet, so treat the combat as unproven until they land.
Built for the culture. Operated from San Diego. Run by PHRHX through Sneakz & Beatz LLC. Black-owned, four pillars: sneakers, hip-hop, anime, gaming.
