Atlanta rappers Nino Paid and Warhol.SS are in custody on felony murder charges. Both men are accused, not convicted. The details below come from XXL's report on October 15, and nothing else has been independently confirmed.
The charges
Per XXL, Nino Paid, born Jacquawn Andrews, is charged with felony murder, armed robbery and aggravated assault. U.S. Border Patrol arrested him on September 1 while he tried to re-enter the U.S. from Canada, and he was held in the Wayne County Jail in Michigan before being extradited to Atlanta. Warhol.SS, born Zahair Myles, is charged with felony murder, criminal attempt to commit a felony, armed robbery and aggravated assault. XXL reports he turned himself in to police on September 14.
The incident
The charges stem from an April 25 shooting. Atlanta police responded to a report of a person shot near Old Fourth Ward and found a 29-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds, who was taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition and later died. XXL says police have not released a motive or the victim's identity. Police said investigators identified the two men as suspects after "a thorough investigation."
Where it stands
Both men remain in jail without bond. XXL reports Nino Paid's bond hearing was scheduled for October 15; the outcome was not in the report. XXL says it reached out to both men's teams for comment. We will update this page if either team responds or the court record changes.
The read
Charges are the start of a process, not its end. The pattern we have tracked all month, rappers moving through high-profile trials and pretrial detention, keeps running through Atlanta's courts. The person lost here is a 29-year-old man whose name has not been released.
