The Eminem feature that fans argued about for two weeks just changed songs.
Kid Rock said in a video posted Wednesday, Oct. 14, that Eminem is no longer on "7 Sins" and that Lil Wayne is, per HotNewHipHop and Complex. "You folks will probably be happy to hear that he's no longer on '7 Sins,'" Rock says in the clip, which he posted on X. Eminem is still on the project, just on another record called "Heal My Faith."
Halfway 2 Jesus, Rock's 13th studio album, arrives Saturday, Oct. 17. Complex counts 17 songs and says Eminem appears on one of them. HotNewHipHop names only "7 Sins" and "Heal My Faith"; a full tracklist hasn't been published in the reports we reviewed.
## What changed, and what didn't Rock's original "7 Sins" announcement, which we covered when it landed, set off a debate about Eminem sharing a record with a vocal Trump supporter. Rock has backed Trump since his first campaign; Eminem has been openly critical of him, per Complex. Rock's album foreword says the contributors come from different politics and backgrounds and hopes the record "sets an example for people who've lost friends or stopped talking to family because they think differently."
Neither Eminem's camp nor Rock has explained why the song swap happened. The reports describe it as a reshuffle, not a removal, so treat any reason offered online as speculation until someone on the record says it.
## Why Wayne matters here Putting Lil Wayne on a song called "7 Sins" lands differently than the Eminem version would have. It's a Weezy verse on a rock-rap record by a man whose crossover run goes back to the late '90s, and it moves the headline from the politics argument to the verse itself. Saturday, people will be listening for what Wayne does with it.
The album will settle more than this post can. Until it's out, the only confirmed facts are the ones Rock put in his own video.
