The lawsuit over Drakeo The Ruler's death is reportedly over.
On Wednesday, Oct. 14, TMZ reported that the late rapper's estate ended its wrongful death case after an undisclosed resolution with Live Nation, Hollywood Elite Security, Inc., Black Tide Events, LLC and other defendants, per XXL's write-up. One detail from the report: the settlement requires certain terms to be completed within 45 days. We don't know the amount, and nobody has confirmed it on the record. XXL says it reached out to Live Nation for comment; no response was included.

## What the case was Drakeo was stabbed to death in a backstage brawl at the Once Upon a Time in L.A. Festival in 2021. In 2022 his brother sued the festival's promoters, alleging they failed to keep the venue safe. Snoop Dogg was first named as a defendant but successfully argued he should be dropped.
## What is still open The killing itself remains unsolved. XXL notes that in July, YG was detained in connection with the investigation, but he has not been arrested or charged and has denied involvement, including on his June song "We Know the Truth." That is where the record stops. A civil settlement is not an answer to who did it, and we're not going to pretend it is.
## The read Settlements don't come with a verdict, but this one closes the venue-safety question the family pushed for five years. For the west coast, Drakeo is still one of the most mourned losses of the decade, and any movement on his case moves the culture. We'll update if terms or a criminal development surface.
