The Air Jordan 12 "Obsidian" is coming back in 2027. Sneaker News lists it as tentatively releasing January 23, 2027, at $215, style code CT8013-401, through Nike SNKRS. "Tentatively" is the word to hold onto. Jordan Brand hasn't locked it in publicly.
What it is
Navy leather upper. White overlays. Accents of French Blue. That's the whole pitch, and it works. Those are North Carolina colors on a Chicago Bulls shoe, which is why this one never got worn on court. Mike was a Bull. The palette was a nod to where he came from, and the shoe lives in that gap.
The Obsidian is one of the original 12 colorways from the 1996–97 season, per Sneaker News. Sneaker Freaker's listing says it's had one full retro, in 2012, plus a Low in 2004. Their read is that 2027 lines up with the silhouette's 30th anniversary. Dating on the original release varies by source, so take the anniversary angle as theirs, not gospel.
Price and where to cop
$215 retail. Standard release on SNKRS, flagged "Coming Soon." No raffle details yet. Expect the usual: SNKRS first, then Jordan retailers closer to the date. Dates slide on Jordan retros all the time, so don't lock your calendar until it's official.
The take
Look, the 12 doesn't get enough credit for how clean a navy-and-white pair can be. The Obsidian is the quiet one in the family. Not a hype shoe, a wear shoe. If you missed 2012, this is the window. Related: the Air Jordan 7 Playoffs lands February 20, 2027, so early 2027 is already stacking up.
Unverified
The Jan. 23 date is tentative. Sneaker Freaker's page lists the same date but gives no price. We did not confirm materials or sizing runs.
