Crunchyroll used its New York Comic Con panel to put dates on the next few months. The headline: Sekiro: No Defeat, an eight-episode action series, debuts in January, and a clip was shown at the panel, per Animation Scoop's October 13 recap.
The dates
Yuri!!! on ICE returns to theaters for its 10th anniversary on October 19. Witch on the Holy Night opens January 29. The rom-com Everyone's Darling Has a Secret arrives in April. Crunchyroll also said it plans monthly Anime Nights in theaters. No exact January date for Sekiro came out of the recap.
First looks
Previews included Ghost of Tsushima Legends, Here U Are, EAT-MAN, Berserk of Gluttony Season 2, and The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All. NYCC-exclusive character art for Kagurabachi was revealed, and LISA sent a video message for Magical Buffs, whose theme she performs. Crunchyroll also pointed to Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, distributed with Sony Pictures, grossing nearly $800 million worldwide.
The culture read
Two things stand out. One, game franchises are now anime franchises on a schedule. Sekiro and Ghost of Tsushima are both PlayStation-adjacent worlds heading to the same streaming shelf. Two, theaters are becoming a monthly habit for anime fans. That's the same playbook hip-hop used with listening events and release-night screenings. Show up together, make it an event.
If you want the soundtrack side, Edgerunners 2 drops all 10 episodes Oct. 20, and that's the clearest example of anime and rap sharing a lane.
Unverified
No exact Sekiro premiere date, platform window or English cast was reported. Theater lists for Anime Nights weren't published in the recap.
