The Air Jordan 9 "Super Freak" is reportedly dropping February 13, 2027, Super Bowl weekend, at $215 in men's sizing. This is the Randy Moss player exclusive going public. Sole Retriever's report leans on early leaks from zSneakerHeadz and SneakerFiles, so it's not official yet.
The shoe
White leather base. Glossy purple patent leather overlays. Gold on the heel pull tabs, branding and collar. On the tongue, the "Air Jordan" text gets swapped for gold "Super Freak" embroidery. The purple and gold nod to the Vikings and, per Sole Retriever, the Lakers. Those are early mock-ups, so details could change. It's also unclear whether the heel carries Moss's 84 or the standard 23.
Why Moss
Randy Moss was Jordan Brand's first NFL endorser. He played in Minnesota, wore a Jordan 13 and a Jordan 9 during his career, and in 2000 got his own silhouette, the Jumpman Super Freak, per Sole Retriever. So this isn't a random football tie-in. The nickname came with the deal.
The take
Real talk — the Super Bowl weekend slot makes sense. Football and Jordan Brand don't cross as often as basketball does, and Moss is the cleanest bridge. The 9 has a long history as a shoe for a man who walked away, but this pair is about a receiver who never slowed down. Different energy. Same Jumpman.
