The Divine Feminine turned ten, and the anniversary edition dropped Oct. 2 through Warner Records with three songs we hadn't heard. Per Ratings Game Music, the original ten tracks are all there, plus three unreleased recordings from the album's era.
## What's new "Butterflies" was out first, with Thundercat on bass. The other two titles weren't named in the reporting we read, so we'll leave them alone. Physical copies come in colored-vinyl variants through Mac's official store, per the same report. We didn't find a price in the sources.
## The guest list holds up Anderson .Paak on "Dang!" Ariana Grande on "My Favorite Part." Ty Dolla $ign on "Cinderella." Kendrick Lamar on "God Is Fair, Sexy, Nasty." Bilal, CeeLo Green, Njomza and Robert Glasper in the credits. That's a Black-music lineage on a Pittsburgh rapper's love album, and it never felt forced.
## Why it still lands The album was Mac stepping into live instruments and soul, in public, and people followed. Ten years later the jazz-and-soul lane he opened keeps getting new traffic. The bonus Thundercat record fits: bass-forward, loose, built for a room. Hear it next to the original and the through-line is obvious.
We flagged it on the Oct. 2 new music Friday. This is the longer look.
## The take Anniversary reissues usually feel like inventory. This one added music, and the music fits. Put on the original in order, then the bonus tracks. See if you can tell where the seam is.
