Peak is climbing onto PS5 on Oct. 22. PlayStation Blog announced it Oct. 15. The developers are Aggro Crab (Seattle) and Landfall (Stockholm), working together as "Team Peak." The post doesn't list a price, so check the PlayStation Store before you plan a budget.
## What you're getting It's a co-op climbing game, solo or with friends. Crossplay lets you climb with up to three friends on other platforms. There are four biomes, each with its own problems: tornadoes, poison clouds, birds and zombies. You scavenge food, manage injuries, and watch your stamina drain when you're hurt. Difficulty is customizable per run. The PS5 version includes every content update, biome and item released since the original launch.
## Why it works The fun in games like this is the group chat. One person overextends, someone else gets the rope wrong, and the whole squad has a story by Friday night. The "all updates included" part matters: you're not joining late to a stripped-down version.
## Same week, more PlayStation It lands the same week as the Helldivers 2 Scope of Authority warbond on Oct. 20, so squad games are having a run on PlayStation.
## The take If your friends are on PC and you're on PS5, crossplay is the reason to care. Grab a rope-and-regret night.
