The drop
NDA, Trippie's sixth studio album, arrives August 14 via 1400/10K/Atlantic — his first full-length since 2023's Mansion Musik. He rolled it out with a cinematic, Backrooms-inspired trailer: empty dreamlike interiors, moody car shots, mirrors — a horror mood board for a record built on paranoia.
What we've heard
The lead single "Swagger" is out front, and the tracklist teases a Young Thug collaboration, "Paperbag Boy." A Thug feature still carries weight in this lane — the melodic, elastic-flow blueprint that Trippie's whole sound borrows from. Pairing them on a record about secrecy and trust is the kind of casting that reads as intentional.
Crowded day
August 14 is stacked — Nipsey Hussle, Paul Wall and Open Mike Eagle are all dropping the same day. Trippie sharing a release date with a posthumous Nipsey project and two vets means he's not walking into an empty room. He'll have to win attention, not just release into it.
Why it matters
Trippie is one of the artists who turned SoundCloud energy into arena-sized numbers, and where he lands now says something about the wave's staying power. NDA is a test of whether the sound that defined the late 2010s still moves the culture, or whether the game's already turned the page. August 14 answers it.
