My Hero Academia wrapped its main run, but it's not done saying goodbye. This time the spotlight goes to Eri — and it's a tearjerker in the making.

## What dropped MHA is releasing a new short anime focused on Eri titled "I Am a Hero Too," adapting a special chapter from My Hero Academia: Ultra Age that shows Eri grown up and in high school. Per Anime Corner, the short is set to stream on August 2. It follows the MHA: More epilogue material, closing out a franchise that ran the anime for 170 episodes through December 2025.

## Why it hits Eri's arc is one of the most emotional in modern shonen — a kid whose quirk made her a weapon, rescued and slowly taught that she's allowed to just be a kid. Seeing her healthy, in high school, becoming her own hero is the kind of full-circle payoff that means everything to people who grew up with the show. It's about breaking a cycle, and that resonates way past the cape stuff.

## The read MHA carrying a whole generation for a decade earned these victory-lap shorts. "I Am a Hero Too" isn't a big action set piece — it's a quiet, earned moment for a character the fandom protects. Sometimes the softest episodes hit the hardest.
