Kaiju No. 8 is one of the few newer shonen titles that earned its hype fast. It's back this fall — just not the way you'd expect.

## The short The new project is 'Narumi's Week at Work' (also called Narumi's Weekdays), an original short with a main visual out and a fall 2026 release confirmed. Instead of Kafka Hibino, it centers Gen Narumi — the Defense Force's strongest officer.
