Silksong spent years as a running joke about vaporware. Now it's out, it's beloved, and Team Cherry won't stop adding to it.

## The update Team Cherry rolled out a substantial patch positioned as the final major one before the game's expansion, 'Sea of Sorrow.' The update brings new areas, bosses, and tools, and — like the studio's whole approach — it's free to every owner.

## Why 'free' is the flex Team Cherry built its reputation on giving Hollow Knight players free content DLC after DLC. Carrying that into Silksong — a game that already delivered on a legendary wait — is the studio doubling down on goodwill instead of nickel-and-diming a captive audience.
