Gundam has always lived where anime and gaming overlap, and Bandai Namco leaned all the way into that at San Diego Comic-Con — revealing a game and the anime it's chained to in the same breath.
## The reveal At SDCC 2026, Bandai Namco unveiled the world of Gundam Rogue Orbit, a fast, high-mobility action game where you pilot the mobile suit Gundam Helix as ace pilot RE-X against enemy hordes and massive bosses. It's set in a new “After Apocalypse” timeline, picking up after the events of the anime Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO.
## The lore The pitch: an interstellar Object gifts humanity gravity control, FTL communication and cognitive materialization, then turns hostile and spawns a self-proliferating “Apocalypse” that forces humanity off Earth. By A.A. 45, a boy named Ray Azumi awakens on the lunar surface — the story's entry point.
## The ecosystem Bandai isn't shipping a game in isolation. There's an HG 1/144 Gundam Helix Gunpla kit, a Collector's Edition with an exclusive Earth Blue variant, and a Gundam Card Game tie-in — the full merch-and-media web Gundam runs on.
## The cultural close Gundam Rogue Orbit hits PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2027. For the crowd that lives in both the anime and the controller, a fresh timeline built to sell suits, cards and a game at once is exactly how this franchise has always moved.
