When the guy who gave you Soul Eater and Fire Force starts a new world, you pay attention. That's exactly what's on the table this month.

## What's dropping Daemons of the Shadow Realm - Atsushi Ohkubo's manga - gets its anime on Netflix in July 2026, part of the platform's summer anime slate. It centers on Yuki, a teenager who discovers he's tied to a bloodline of demon-blooded protectors and a sister he was separated from. Ohkubo's signature is all over the source: sharp, stylish character design and a supernatural world with its own rules.

## Why it matters Ohkubo built two anime that outlived their airings - Soul Eater is still a gateway series for new fans, and Fire Force pulled Shonen numbers with some of the cleanest fight direction in the genre. A creator with that track record starting fresh is worth a look on name alone, and Netflix putting it on the summer board means it gets a global window from day one.

## The read First adaptations from proven creators are usually a safer bet than the average seasonal premiere - the world-building already survived a manga run. The question is always the studio and the direction. Go in for the art and the concept; judge the pacing once a few episodes land.
