Cyberpunk gets a beat every episode, and this week it lives in anime. Edgerunners 2 moved past the tease — there's a full trailer now, a Fall 2026 window on Netflix, and the details that turn a rumor into a real show.
## What's actually new Last time we talked, it was a first look out of Anime Expo. Now CD Projekt Red and Trigger have put a release window on it and shown real story. It's a standalone ten-episode arc — you don't need the first season memorized to jump in. New cast, too: Weak, a veteran edgerunner who used to go by 'King'; D, a Snake Nation netrunner running on revenge; and Roman Carax, a young film obsessive chasing real stories through the city's worst corners.
## The music co-sign The first Edgerunners lived and died on its soundtrack — that's part of why it hit so hard outside the usual anime crowd. Round two keeps that going: Rico Nasty cut an original song for it, 'You Can't Run From Me,' written for the show and already streaming everywhere. That's the kind of crossover that pulls hip-hop heads into an anime they might've skipped.
## Why it clears the bar We hold the anime block to big names, and this is one of the biggest cross-media properties going — the show that turned a broken game into a comeback story is running it back with a clean slate. Fall's the window. The trailer's live. The Rico Nasty track is the appetizer.
