Studio Pierrot is ending Boruto's TV hiatus with a seasonal, near-filler-free adaptation — and the fandom is arguing about the date.

The Naruto arm of the Big Three has been dark since 2023. That's about to change.

## What's confirmed Revealed through a franchise 10th-anniversary trailer, Studio Pierrot is producing a Boruto: Two Blue Vortex anime — and it's switching from the old weekly grind to a seasonal release model. Pierrot leadership framed the change as a way to ease animator crunch and stop the anime from outrunning the manga, with staff describing an adaptation "serious" enough that there's little room for filler.

## Why the model matters The weekly-forever model is what burned out staff and produced the filler slogs fans dreaded. Going seasonal — the structure behind recent Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen runs — is Pierrot betting that a tighter, better-looking Boruto beats a constant one.

## What's not confirmed No premiere date, no streaming home, no episode count. The manga went on hiatus after Chapter 36 and resumes in V Jump's oversized November issue (on sale Sept 18). Anything sharper than "expected late 2026 or early 2027" is fan speculation.
