This isn't a new season. It's a goodbye. Bleach — one of the pillars of a whole generation's anime run — reaches its final stretch this month, and it's been more than twenty years coming.

## What's dropping 'The Calamity,' the fourth and final cour of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, premieres July 25. It closes out the last arc of the manga and, with it, the anime itself. When this cour ends, Bleach's on-screen story is done.

## The weight of it Thousand-Year Blood War was the arc fans thought they'd never see animated — the original anime ended in 2012 before ever reaching it. The 2022 revival brought it back cour by cour, and this is the payoff. Ichigo's final war, given the full modern-production treatment Studio Pierrot never gave the early run.

## Why it hits for the culture Bleach, Naruto and One Piece were the big three that pulled a generation into anime. Watching one of them take its final bow is a genuine landmark, not just another premiere. If you grew up on it, this is the closing chapter of something you started as a kid.

## What to expect Expect scale. The revival has been leaning into cinematic fight animation and the darker, heavier tone the final arc demands. 'The Calamity' is the name for a reason — this is where the losses land.

## The takeaway Endings are rare in long-running anime; most just fade. Bleach getting a real, produced finale is the kind of closure fans almost never get. Show up for the last one.
